Kenneth R. North, Sr.

Kenneth R. North, Sr., 83, of Beacon Park Drive, Riverside, Rhode Island formerly of Attleboro, died on Friday, August 22, 2014 at the Mt. St. Rita Health Centre in Cumberland, Rhode Island. He was the husband of the late Helen M. (Faria) North. Born in Eastport, Maine on July 1, 1931, he was a son of the late Archie and Priscilla (Taylor) North. Mr. North proudly served in the United States Navy from his enlistment on May 24, 1950 until his honorable discharge on march 19, 1954. He was the recipient of the Korean Service medal, the UN Service medal, China Service medal, Navy Occupation Service medal and the National Defense Service medal. He was employed as a machinist for 18 years prior to his retirement in 1983 from the former RICO Machine Company in Bristol, Rhode Island. He attended the Samira Church of God in Seekonk. He leaves five children; two grandchildren, his siblings and several nieces and nephews. Mr. North also leaves his dear friends: Diane Osborne and her daughter, Ranelle Cruz, and their family. Visitation has been respectfully omitted. A private graveside funeral service followed by burial will take place at Hillside Cemetery, South Main Street - Route 152, Attleboro.
