Kenneth K. Gentle, 60, of Reed Street, Attleboro, died unexpectedly at his residence on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 and was welcomed home into the arms of God. Born in Attleboro, Massachusetts during hurricane Carol on August 25, 1954, he was a son of the late James Milton Gentle, Sr. and June E. (Knowlton) Gentle. He spent his earlier years in Rehoboth and moved to the City of Attleboro with his family at the age of 10. He attended Attleboro public schools and remained a city resident for the past 50 years. Mr. Gentle was an accomplished musician who played the guitar, wrote romantic songs and performed at countless weddings and functions and was a private guitar teacher having taught his art to countless area residents. He was previously employed by the Sun Chronicle having worked in the distribution department. His family will remember a man who loved God, his family and cherished his friendships. Neighbors described him as a "man with a good heart always willing to help others". He leaves a daughter: Melissa Gentle of Providence, Rhode Island; four siblings: Geraldine E. "Geri" (Gentle) Boyes and her husband, Paul Boyes, of Attleboro; Elizabeth J. "Betty" (Gentle) Dwyer and her husband, David Dwyer, of Attleboro; Joanne M. (Gentle) Lacasse and her husband, Steve Lacasse, of Attleboro and James M. Gentle, Jr. and his wife, Kathie Gentle, of Plymouth; two grandchildren and two generations of nieces and nephews, extended family members and dear friends. Visitation has been respectfully omitted. A private graveside funeral service will be held at the Joseph Stillman Pierce Yard Rehoboth Historic Cemetery #16. Burial will follow.
