Kenneth "Ken" Alan Dufour Sr., 63, of North Attleboro, MA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 with his loving family at his side. He was the beloved husband of Sharil Ann (Coan) Dufour, whom he married on January 22, 1977.
Born on January 22, 1957 in Winsted, CT, he was the son of the late Vincent Raymond Dufour and the late Louise (Mynard) Dufour.
Ken was a graduate of Oliver Wolcott Technical High School, attended military training school, and proudly and honorably served our country in the United States Army.
He worked for more than fifteen years as a mechanic, service technician and inspector for the former Anderson Chrysler Plymouth dealership in Attleboro, MA, and then for ten years as a battery technician for AAA in Middlebury, MA.
A resident of North Attleboro for the past thirty-four years, he previously lived in Torrington, CT. A man of faith, he attended Lighthouse Christian Church in North Smithfield, RI.
A genuinely kind, caring and generous man with a big smile and a warm heart, the true core of Ken's life was his cherished family. He enjoyed camping and participating in many civic and community organizations. In his younger years he enjoyed listening to music from the Eagles. Ken took great pride in our country and held a deep and abiding respect for those dedicated to serving in the military. He loved animals of every kind and was truly committed to helping find homes for rescued animals. Ken held a special place in his heart for his faithful companion, "Mable", and for his late dog, "Bear".
In addition to his wife, Sharil, he leaves his beloved children: Kenneth Alan Dufour II and Heather L. Dufour, both of North Attleboro, MA. He was the dear brother of Suzanne McCary of Torrington, CT, and was predeceased by his siblings: the late William Dufour, the late Robert Dufour, and the late Charlotte Dufour. He leaves several nephews, and cousins, as well as many dear friends, and his friends from work, who were like family to him.
All services for Ken will be privately held.
A Memorial Service will be held for Ken at a later date.
