Kenneth "Ken" Wayne DeForest, 53, of Hartford, CT, peacefully passed away on Friday, February 17, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, CT. Born on November 24, 1963 in Attleboro, MA, he was the son of Elizabeth E. (Chretien) Briere of Lincoln, RI, and the late John George DeForest, Sr.Ken was the owner of Krystal Klear Painting and Remodeling, and had previously worked for many years as a jewelry worker for Plainville Stock Company in Plainville, MA. A resident of Hartford, CT for the past two and one-half years, Ken previously lived in Myrtle Beach, SC. He took great pride in, and truly enjoyed, painting houses. Ken enjoyed music, cars and driving, and in his younger years, going to Seekonk Speedway. He loved the beach, especially in Myrtle Beach, and simply spending time with friends and family.In addition to his mother and her husband, Robert Briere, of Lincoln, RI, he is survived by his beloved daughter, Krystal K. Perry of North Providence, RI. Ken was the father of the late Matthew David William Kercado. He was the brother of Brenda Marie DeForest of Attleboro, MA; Marilyn Ann Oddo and her husband, Sal Oddo, of South Windsor, CT; John George DeForest, Jr. of North Attleboro, MA, and his fiancée, Deb DiGiampietro; Dennis James DeForest, Sr. and his wife, Denise DeForest, of Hillsboro, NH; and Donna Jean Rowan of South Attleboro, MA. He was the brother of the late David Allen DeForest, Sr. and his late wife, Paula DeForest. Ken is survived by his grandchild, Logan A.J.
