Kay Joyce (Tingley) Sargent, 86, of Attleboro, MA, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 15, 2020 at HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence, RI. She was the wife of the late Harvey A. Sargent who died on March 25, 1992 and the companion of Conrad "Pete" LeBel of Seekonk, MA for the past six years.
Born on February 26, 1934 in North Attleboro, MA, she was the daughter of the late Arthur G. Tingley and the late Bessie (Thomson) Tingley.
Raised and educated in North Attleboro, she was a graduate of North Attleboro High School. She lived most of her life in Attleboro, having also resided in Seattle, WA for twenty years.
A warm and outgoing woman of faith, she was a longtime member of Grace Baptist Church. Kay enjoyed singing; art, especially painting; and playing Scrabble. She cherished her role as a homemaker for her beloved family and treasured spending time with them.
She was the loving mother of Joyce K. Ellington and her husband, Joseph D. Vella, of AZ; Lynn F. Sargent of Attleboro, MA; Bessie M. Sargent and her companion, John Largey, of Wellfleet, MA; Patti A. Ellis and her husband, Alan L. Ellis, of Plainville, MA; the late Jennie L. Lemay and her husband, Timothy LeMay of Attleboro, MA; and Brenda J. Sargent and her companion, Glenn Maynard, of Attleboro, MA. Kay was the proud and adoring grandmother of nineteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was the sister of Claire Bailey of Seattle, WA; Dorothy Bozzo of Seattle, WA; and Beverly Young and her husband, Lynn Young, of HI. She was predeceased by her brother, Arthur Tingley, and leaves numerous nieces and nephews, many cousins and her extended family.
With strict adherence to applicable Covid-19 health precautions, including social distancing and the mandatory use of facemasks, relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Memorial Visitation on Friday, November 20, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, followed by a Funeral Service at 5:30 p.m. at Dyer-Lake Funeral Home.
Burial services will be privately held in Oak Knoll Cemetery, Rehoboth, MA.
