Kathleen Diane Morowitz, 87, of Plymouth, MA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at Stafford Hill Assisted Living in Plymouth, MA. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward Daniel Morowitz, whom she married on May 28, 1955.
Born on February 18, 1936, in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Austin Simonson and the late Charlotte Hazel (Lachler) Simonson.
She was a graduate of Franklin High School in Brooklyn, NY, where she was raised and educated. Kathleen worked for several years as a secretary in the accounting department of NBC Television in New York and enjoyed her work as an "Avon Lady" for many years. She had also worked for Emma's Bridal Shop in Dedham, MA.
A warm, outgoing woman filled with love and generosity, the true center of Kathleen's life was her family, especially her children, with whom she truly cherished spending time and her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, for whom the sun rose and set.
Kathleen always looked forward to gathering with good friends at the Horse N' Carriage restaurant in Norfolk, MA. Kathleen had a real love of nature: delighting in the beauty of colorful flowers and finding peace and tranquility in watching and listening to the sound of birds, especially Cardinals.
A woman of deep faith and devotion, she had been an active member of St. Mary's Church in Foxborough, MA, for many years and previously she and Edward had served as Eucharistic ministers at St. Martha's Church in Plainville, MA. Kathleen had at one time taught Sunday School at Saint Susanna Church in Dedham, MA, as well.
Kathleen was the beloved mother of Kathleen M. (Morowitz) Vartanian of Walpole, MA, and her late husband, Robert S. Vartanian; Mary Ellen (Morowitz) McGrath and her husband, James B. McGrath Jr., of Attleboro, MA; Patricia D. (Morowitz) Crickard and her husband, Edward G. Crickard, of Plymouth, MA; Carol Ann (Morowitz) Kotce and her husband, Kevin R. Kotce, of Plymouth, MA; and the late Joseph E. Morowitz. She was the proud grandmother of Michael E. Morowitz, Joseph R. Vartanian, Stephen V. Vartanian, Edward J. "EJ" Crickard, Matthew R. Kotce, and Benjamin J. Kotce; and the adoring great-grandmother of Birdie A. Morowitz, Jordan R. Vartanian, and Leo R. Vartanian. Kathleen was predeceased by her siblings: Austin Simonson and Charlotte (Simonson) Carillo and leaves her extended family and many dear friends.
