Kathleen Marie Marsella

August 1, 1930 — November 13, 2012

Smiling Irish eyes were dimmed on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 when Kathleen "Kay" Marie Marsella, 82, of North Attleboro passed away peacefully in her sleep at the Maples Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Wrentham. She was surrounded by her family, including her beloved husband of 48 years, Alfred A. Marsella, native of North Attleboro. Kay was born in Walpole on August 1, 1930, to the late Thomas and Catherine (Connelly) McHugh. She moved to North Attleboro in 1964 when she married and spent her years there as a homemaker, lovingly raising her family, and devoting herself to her extended family and countless friends. She also spent many years as a waitress at her family's restaurant, The Villa Capri in Wrentham. Kay especially relished her Saturday night dinners with her family, who loved her as much as she loved them. She had a special fondness for Irish music and tuned her radio dial to the Irish Hit Parade every Saturday afternoon. She enjoyed reading and solving crossword puzzles. She was well-known as an avid shopper and perhaps was more notable as an avid returner of the items she purchased. Most of all she loved spending time with her husband and her children, and especially delighted in her two granddaughters. Kay always will be remembered by all who knew her for her positive and gentle spirit along with her stoic, quiet grace. She always took a genuine interest in others, and always left them feeling her warmth and her caring. Kathleen is survived by her spouse: Alfred A. Marsella; daughter: Kathey Marsella of North Attleboro; a son: Alfred Marsella and daughter-in-law Katherine Marsella of Hinesburg, Vermont; her grandchildren: Anna and Grace Marsella and a brother: Thomas McHugh of Wellesley, MA.
