Karen Ann (Bierlich) Silva, 54, of Bulfinch Street, North Attleboro; formerly of Attleboro; died surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, September 23, 2012 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Hospice House in Providence, Rhode Island following a one-year illness. She was the loving wife of Patrick Kenneth Silva to whom she was married on September 24, 1988. Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts on March 13, 1958, she was a daughter of the late John Eddy Bierlich and Rose M. (Tavolieri) Bierlich. She was raised and educated in Belmont where she was a 1976 graduate of Belmont High School. She earned her associate's degree from Massachusetts Bay College in 1978. A resident of North Attleboro for the past year, she formerly resided in Attleboro for many years. Mrs. Silva was employed as a coordinator for Dedham Medical Associates for a total of sixteen years until illness prevented her from working recently. She will be lovingly remembered for wanting to do whatever necessary to help brighten the day of a family member or friend. Her love of traveling brought her to places including Aruba, Jamaica, Cancun, Hawaii and Europe among other places. She took pride in her home and was an incredible interior and exterior decorator and seamstress and will be forever remembered for the best "gravy" or sauce ever made. Mrs. Silva still enjoyed listening to the music from earlier years including Aerosmith, the Doors, Queen, Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks. In addition to her husband of almost 24 years, she also leaves two children: Tanya L. Sousa of North Attleboro and PFC Timothy P. Silva, U.S. Army, of North Attleboro; her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Kenneth and Patricia (Malloy) Silva both of North Attleboro and she also leaves aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, caring colleagues and great friends. She was the sister of the late Bruce E. Bierlich.
