Karen Jean Healy, 70, of Hope Gardens Apartments, Attleboro, MA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Life Care Center of Attleboro in Attleboro after a courageous and stoical four year battle with breast cancer.Born on March 18, 1948 in Attleboro, she was the loving and devoted daughter and caregiver to her late parents, Charles Frederick Healy and Ruth Mildred (Smith) Healy.She was a graduate of Attleboro High School, Class of 1966, and received her Bachelor's Degree from Rhode Island College in 1970. Karen worked for various manufacturing businesses in the Attleboro area as an inside Sales Coordinator before retiring to care for her mother full-time. Together, their travels took them to Hawaii, Las Vegas, Canada, Maine, and Vermont. They spent many very happy winters in Siesta Key, FL. She was an avid reader, enjoyed walking, watching Net Flix movies, and was a huge fan of the New England Patriots. The best times in Karen's life were spent in the company of her beloved family. She was a fixture at all family gatherings and always seemed to bring the favorite gifts for birthdays and holidays. She had a knack for knowing what little children liked the best, and was their own personal Pied Piper. Each child held a special place in her heart, and she spread a lot of love around her family. Karen is survived by her loving sister, Maureen (Healy) Miller, and her devoted brother-in-law, Gerald A. Miller, of North Attleboro, MA. She leaves her much loved nieces, Jennifer (Miller) Fine and her husband, Jason Fine, of Franklin, MA; Kara (Miller) Coddaire and her husband, Mark Coddaire, of North Attleboro, MA; and Colleen Healy of East Providence, RI. She was the aunt of the late Lt. Col. Robert Healy Jr, U.S. Army, and the cherishing great aunt of Brody Fine and Wyatt Fine, of Franklin, MA; Aaron Coddaire, Nathan Coddaire, and Liana Coddaire, all of North Attleboro. She leaves many loving cousins.Private graveside services were held in Newell Burying Ground, Attleboro, MA.Karen's family gratefully acknowledges all the kindness and caring extended to her by Dr. Asma Latif, Dr. Cheryl Gottesmann, Alex and Nicole of Bristol Elder Services, the compassionate staff of CVNA, the wonderful staff of Life Care Center of Attleboro who made her feel so comfortable and welcomed, and the kind and caring staff and management of Hope Gardens Apartments.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Karen to the Life Care Center of Attleboro Activities Fund, 969 Park Street, Attleboro, MA 02703.For additional information or to send the family a written expression of sympathy, please visit an online guest book at www.dyer-lakefuneralhome.com .
