Joyce Louise (Hawkins) Roy Howarth, 77, of Plainville, MA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 17, 2018 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, MA. She was the beloved wife of Robert Edgar Howarth, to whom she was married on February 14, 2005, and the late Thomas Anthony Roy Sr.Born on March 18, 1941 in Pawtucket, RI, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Emily (Fletcher) Hawkins. Joyce was a graduate of Tolman High School in Pawtucket, and worked for sixteen years as a Cashier and Cashier Manager for Benny's in North Attleboro, before retiring.A resident of Plainville for the past five years, she previously lived in Lakeland, FL.Joyce enjoyed cooking, baking, canning, crocheting, and yard sales. More than anything, she loved being with her family.In addition to her husband, Robert, she was the loving mother of Lynne J. (Roy) Casalino and her husband, David Casalino, of Boiling Springs, SC; Elaine M. (Roy) Penney and her husband, Ronald E. Penney, of South Attleboro, MA; Susan Roy of Central Falls, RI, her late husband, Michael Robert Soullier Sr., and her companion, Sean P. Kell Sr.; Thomas A. Roy Jr. and his wife, Sheila (Wilbur) Roy, of Attleboro, MA; and Fred F. Roy Sr. and his companion, Jenn Hartley, of North Attleboro, MA. She was the loving grandmother of Anthony Casalino, Jon Penney, Adrian Houle, Norman Rainey Jr., Thomas Roy III, Joseph Roy Sr., Stephen Roy, Fred Roy Jr., and the late Timothy Roy; and the proud great-grandmother of eight great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Lois St. Gelais, and leaves several nieces and nephews, her extended family, and many dear friends.
