Joshua Blake Tingley, 96, of Pembroke Avenue, Attleboro, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at his residence surrounded by the love of his devoted and dedicated family. He was the loving husband of the late Alma (Tabberner) Tingley to whom he was married for 68 years until her passing on September 7, 2005. Born in Attleboro, Massachusetts on November 8, 1915, he was a son of the late E. Blake and Addie L. (Williams) Tingley. He was raised and educated in the City of Attleboro where he was a 1933 graduate of Attleboro High School. He later attended engineering school. He remained a resident of his native community his entire life with the brief exception of a short time he resided in Washington State. Mr. Tingley was employed at Bliss Farm in Rehoboth many years ago followed by Attleboro Ice Company and retired from the City of Attleboro following 30 years of dedicated service as a stationary engineer at the Attleboro Pumping Station. He was a faithful member of Faith Alliance Church in Attleboro where he was proudly the oldest member of the congregation. He leaves four children: David A. Tingley of Attleboro; Linda R. Wagner and her husband, George E. Wagner, of Attleboro; Sharon E. LaMay and her husband, Donald S. LaMay, of Norton and Cynthia L. Wiegand and her husband, Michael F. Wiegand, of Clearwater, Florida: ten grandchildren: Derrith L. (Falk) Palmer and her husband, Robert Palmer; James M. Falk; Glenn D. Falk and his wife, Cindy Falk; Wayne A. Tingley and his wife, Janice Tingley; John T. Tingley and his wife, Amber Tingley; Amy E. (LaMay) Collins and her husband, Matt Collins; Lindsey D. LaMay; Joshua D. Wiegand and his wife, Erica Wiegand; Jeremy J. Wiegand and his wife, Becky Wiegand; Jaimie L. (Wiegand) Wilson and her husband, Nick Wilson; great grandchildren: Bethany, Julie and Courtney Palmer; Tyler Falk; Elizabeth and Isaac Falk, Natasha and Sean Naehring; Abby and Alyssa Tingley; Sophie Collins; Lexi and Trent Morgan and Tristin Wiegand; a brother: William A. Tingley of Soldotna, Alaska and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends. He was the father of the late John T. Tingley and Marion L. Falk. He was the brother of the late Charles, Norman and Richard O. Tingley. Public visitation has been respectfully omitted. Relatives and friends will be cordially invited to attend a Celebration of His Life to be held in the future at the Faith Alliance Church, 833 Pleasant Street, Attleboro. Burial will be private in Woodlawn Cemetery, Attleboro. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his name and honor may be made to Faith Alliance Church, 833 Pleasant Street, Attleboro, MA 02703.
