Joseph "Pepere" Bernard Morel, Sr., 87, of Plainville, MA passed away on August 21, 2025, at the Blaire House of Milford in Milford, MA. He was predeceased by his adored wife, the late Elaine Jeannette (Savoie) Morel who died on April 5, 2011.
Born in Central Falls, Rhode Island on December 21, 1937, he was a son of the late Edward Charles Morel and the late Germaine (Deneault) Morel. He was raised and educated in his native community of Central Falls and attended Sacred Heart.
He proudly served with the United States Army having enlisted on August 31, 1955, and serving honorably until his discharge on January 30, 1958. He was the recipient of the Purple Heart.
Mr. Morel was the owner and operator of Morel Cycle and Power Equipment in North Attleboro for many years.
He was a communicant of St. Martha Parish in Plainville, MA and while residing in Florida, he and his wife attended the River Ranch Chapel in their home community.
He was active in the AMA and NETRA (American Motorcycle Association and New England Trail Riders) from the mid 1960’s to the early 1990’s. He was an avid model aircraft enthusiast and had worked at Northeast Concrete from 1962-1973.
Left to mourn his passing are his children: Donna Morel-DeMers and her husband, William DeMers, of Southwick, MA; Tina Louise Morel of Plainville, MA and Joseph Bernard Morel, Jr. and his wife, Kelly Morel, of Norton, MA; 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren who adored their Pepere; his siblings: Jeanne Schoeppner of South Attleboro, MA and her late husband, Joseph Schoeppner and Helen Powers of Kenosha, Wisconsin and her late husband, Charles Powers; several nieces and nephews, extended family members and dear friends.
He was the brother of the late Pauline G. Igielski who had resided in Westland, Michigan.
Family and friends are warmly welcome to attend Visitation with Veterans Honors on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.
Private inurnment with military honors will be held at a later date at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA where he and his late wife will be laid to rest together.
