Joseph Michael Avellar

Joseph Michael Avellar, 66, of Attleboro, MA passed away on Friday, September 5, 2025, passed away at Hope Health Hulitar Hospice in Providence, Rhode Island following a brief illness.

Born in Attleboro, MA on November 1, 1958, he was a son of Anthony Avellar of Attleboro, MA and the late Beverly Ann (Cote) Avellar. He was raised and educated in his native community - the City of Attleboro.

Mr. Avellar was employed as an equipment installer in the pool and gym industries for many years.

He and his family attended Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church in Seekonk, MA.

His favorite pastimes included working on cars and motorcycles and was an avid collector of vinyl albums of years past.

In addition to his father, he leaves his daughter: Shawna Avellar of Pawtucket, RI; his grandson: Michael Joseph Avellar of Pawtucket, RI; his siblings: Anthony A. Avellar in California; Deborah A. Messier of South Attleboro, MA; Brenda J. Avellar of Attleboro, MA and Eric A. Avellar of Attleboro, MA; his companion: Elaine Walker of North Attleboro, MA and many extended family members and friends.

He was the brother of the late Vicky Impey.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend a Celebration of His Life on Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 6:00 pm until 11:00 pm at the American Legion, 437 Newport Avenue, Attleboro, MA.
