Jose "Joe" Cabral Silva, 69, of Birch Road, North Attleboro, died on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. He was the husband of Vicki L. (Nastasia) Silva to whom he was married on August 21, 1976. Born in So Miguel, the Azores, Portugal on December 2, 1945, he was a son of the late Antonio and Lenore (Almeida) DaSilva. He was raised and educated in Portugal. Upon immigrating to the United States, Mr. Silva resided in Taunton and Attleboro before settling in North Attleboro 36 years ago. He was employed as a machine operator for Texas Instruments in Attleboro for 37 years prior to his retirement in 2005. Mr. Silva was a communicant of St. Mark's Roman Catholic Church in Attleboro Falls. He was a proud member of the Portuguese American Club. Mr. Silva enjoyed fishing, gardening and took great pride in maintaining a meticulous yard especially ensuring his grass was the greenest possible. His most treasured times were those spent in the company of his beloved family creating lifelong memories. In addition to his wife of more than 38 years, he leaves a son: Kenneth Silva of Taunton; two daughters: Melissa A. (Silva) Gagner and her husband, Michael S. Gagner, of North Attleboro and Kristin L. Silva of North Attleboro; three grandchildren: Logan E. Silva, Caysen M. Gagner and Jordana L. Gagner; many nieces, nephews, extended family members and many dear friends. Mr. Silva was one of fourteen children. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right, mile on the left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Family and friends are welcome to attend the Funeral Service on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at 10:00 AM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the funeral home. Burial will be private.
