Jose "Joe" Clemente Pedro, 77, of High Hill Road, Tiverton, Rhode Island, died on May 12, 2015 at the Munroe Regional Medical Center. He was the husband of Maria Salome (Medeiros) Pedro to whom he was married on August 4, 1962. Born in Leiria, Portugal on December 16, 1937, he was a son of the late Jose and Joaquina (Clemente) Pedro. He was raised and educated in his native Portugal and immigrated to the United States and settled in the City of Attleboro where he resided for 42 years. He later moved to Tiverton, Rhode Island where he has lived for the past 14 years. Mr. and Mrs. Pedro spent the winter months in Ocala, Florida for the past 21 years. Mr. Pedro was employed as a smelter in the local jewelry industry for 25 years prior to his retirement at the age of 52. While residing in Attleboro, Mr. Pedro was an active communicant of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church for more than 40 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and traveling throughout Europe. As an ardent gardener, Mr. Pedro particularly liked cultivating and nurturing his grapes, figs and especially his vegetable garden. In addition to his wife, he leaves three children: George M. Pedro of Tiverton, Rhode Island; Adriana M. (Pedro) Maslen and her husband, Christopher Maslen, of North Attleboro and Sergio M. Pedro and his wife, Stacey Mosetich of Fairfield, Connecticut; seven grandchildren: Cameron Pedro, Mackenzie Pedro, Keeley Pedro, Nicole D. Mallon, Richard P. Mallon and his wife, Danielle Mallon, Addison M. Pedro and Cole A. Pedro. He is also survived by two sisters and two brothers. He was predeceased by a brother and a sister. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Thursday, May 21, 2015 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right, mile on the left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. For those in need of a ride to visitation simply call the funeral home directly at 508-695-0200 to make an advance reservation for such gratis transportation. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend the Funeral Service on Friday, May 22, 2015 at 8:30 AM from the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right, mile on the left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 133 North Main Street - Route 152, Attleboro. Burial will follow St. John Cemetery, Attleboro. Children's room is available during the visitation and while the funeral cortege is being organized. Following cemetery services an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at a location to be announced. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Brigham & Women's Hospital, Development Office, 116 Huntington Avenue - 3rd Floor, Boston, MA 02116 to benefit endovascular cardiac surgery in memory of Dr. Michael Davidson.
