Joitiben Ambalal Patel

Joitiben Ambalal Patel, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at home in Bellingham, MA, on Monday, July 30, 2018, at the young age of 104. She is now with her husband, Ambalal Mohanlal Patel, to whom she was married for fifty-nine loving years before he passed away on April 4, 2003. The daughter of the late Ranchodbhai Patel and the late Jeviben Patel, "Ba", as she was lovingly known by most, was born in Visnagar, Gujarat, India, on April 20, 1914, where she lived most of the first sixty-five years of her life. While in India, she spent most of her time raising her children and grandchildren, and also working on her family's farm. She immigrated to the United States in 1989 and enjoyed the last thirty-nine years of her life in Attleboro and Bellingham, MA. A woman of faith, she was filled with love for her family. She enjoyed cooking Indian food, spending time with all of her kids, sitting in the sun, gardening and watching her plants grow, traveling to India, and visiting the temple to pray. She was the loving and beloved mother of Kashiben D. Patel of India; Shardaben B. Patel of Morrisville, NC; Jashvant A. Patel of Woburn, MA; Hasmukh A. Patel of Bellingham, MA; Lalita P. Patel of Plainville, MA; and the late Babubhai A. Patel and the late Kantaben J. Patel. She was the adored grandmother of twenty-three grandchildren, thirty-five great-grandchildren, and fifteen great-great grandchildren. She was the dear sister of Nathalal, and the late Nathiben, Kantaben, and Shomabhai Patel. Family and friends are invited to attend a Hindu funeral ceremony on Friday, August 3, 2018, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Memorial Chapel of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, with a traditional Hindu service at 1:00 p.m., followed by a short service at 3:00 p.m. at Woodlawn North Purchase Crematory, Attleboro, MA.
