Johnny "Johnnie" David Pass, 87, of Plainville, MA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at his residence on Tuesday, December 13, 2022. He was the husband of the late Anne Helen (Ryder) Pass who died in July 1994.Born in Calhoun, Georgia on May 12, 1935, he was a son of the late Roy Pass, Sr. and the late Flora (Grogan) Pass. He was raised and educated in Georgia where he was a graduate of Calhoun High School where he was a star running back on the football team and was a member of the baseball team.Johnnie proudly served his country with the United States Navy.He was a resident of Plainville for more than 60 years and was a member of the Plainville United Methodist Church.Mr. Pass was employed as a receiving and accounting clerk for the former International Paper Company, later known as St. Regis Paper, in Newton, MA for more than 30 years prior to his retirement at the age of 65.He was a longtime member and former past master and past district deputy of the Ezekiel Bates Lodge A.F. & A.M. in Attleboro and was a member of the Aleppo Shriners, As a proud veteran he was a member of the Plainville American Legion.His family recalls with fondness his ability for story telling.Left to mourn his loss are his daughters: Jeanne (Pass) Snyder of North Attleboro, MA; Candy Gayares of Tracey, California; Mary Lou Schall of Plainville, MA and Bonnie Coggeshall of Attleboro, MA; numerous grandchildren, many great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren; a sister: JoDean Bryant in Georgia and several extended family members and friends. He was the father of the late Carol (Philpin) Jemery and Linda J.
