John Gary Thomas, 43 Former Armored Service Technician John Gary Thomas, 43, of McIntyre Lane, Attleboro, died on Friday, November 27, 2009 at the Massachusetts General Hospital following an illness first diagnosed in June 2008. He was the husband of Pamela Jean (Easingwood) Thomas to whom he was married on June 5, 1993. Born in the Hyannis village of Barnstable, Massachusetts on August 23, 1966, he was a son of Donald Ray Thomas, Sr. of Harwich and the late Penny I. (Ellis) Thomas. He was raised and educated in Harwich and was a 1984 graduate of Cape Cod Regional Technical High School in Harwich where he studied culinary arts and electrical science. Mr. Thomas resided in Attleboro for the past seven years having previously lived in Bourne for five years and in North Attleboro for four years. He was employed as an armored service technician for Loomis in Taunton for five years until May 2009 when he stopped working due to illness. Previously, Mr. Thomas was employed as an order selector for Perkins Paper in Taunton for six years. Along with his family, he attended St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Attleboro. An ardent sports enthusiast, he was a devoted and dedicated fan of the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots and the Boston Celtics. He enjoyed playing baseball. His universe centered on his beloved family and he treasured the time spent creating memories with his children as he attended and participated in their activities. He was happiest when he was able to do something to help someone else and enjoyed using his creativity and culinary expertise to cook for family and friends. With love and affection he will be remembered as the ?Best Dad in the World? and a ?Super Man? to his children. In addition to his wife of 16 years and his father, he leaves two children: Marissa C. Thomas, age 11, of Attleboro and Zachary J. Thomas, age 8, of Attleboro; a sister: Theresa A. Fletcher of Dennis; a brother: Steven C. Thomas of Harwich; his wife?s parents: Robert F. and June M. (Coots) Easingwood of Norton and several extended family members including aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was the brother of the late Donald R. Thomas, Jr. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation and a celebration of his life on Tuesday, December 1, 2009 anytime from 5:00 ? 8:00 PM in the ?Memorial Chapel? of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home ? the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson House, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Children?s room available during visitation. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at 10:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 133 North Main Street ? Route 152, Attleboro with the Rev. Richard Roy, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be private. Following church services celebrating his life, family and friends will be welcomed to join the family for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments in the Hospitality Center of St. John the Evangelist Church located adjacent to the church.
