John J. Shruhan, Jr., 70, of North Attleboro, MA passed away unexpectedly at his home on October 26, 2025. He was the husband of Amanda J. (Gabrielli) Shruhan to whom he was married to for the past 41 years.
Born in Boston, MA on March 23, 1955, he was a son of the late John J. Shruhan, Sr. and the late Mary (Feeney) Shruhan. He was raised and educated in Dedham where he was a 1974 graduate of Dedham High School.
Jack was a dedicated employee of Materion in Newton, MA for the past 45 years. He was currently working as a Production Leader, and was a cherished friend and mentor to many there.
His family described him as a force to be reckoned with; someone who left an unmistakable mark on everything around him. From a young age, Jack had a passion for working on cars. In his free time he spent hours rebuilding Hot Rods, fabricating them with his own unique style and flair, resulting in one of a kind masterpieces. He was a self-taught 'Jack' of all trades, from programming a computer, achieving peak physical strength, or remodeling a house from floor to ceiling and beyond. He possessed an enduring drive to understand how things worked and how to make things his own.
In addition to his wife, he leaves two children: Janelle M. Ballerstedt and her husband, Robert, of North Attleboro, MA and Joseph J. Shruhan of Chepachet, RI; two granddaughters: Kylie Ballerstedt and Raelyn Ballerstedt both of North Attleboro, MA; his siblings: Robert Shruhan of Sharon, MA; Thomas Shruhan of Quincy, MA; Peter Shruhan of Norwood, MA; Lisa McCann of Foxboro, MA and Paul Shruhan of Plymouth, MA and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends.
He was the brother of the late Joseph Shruhan.
Family and friends are warmly welcome to attend Visitation on Thursday, October 30, 2025, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 31, 2025, at 10:00 am at the Transfiguration of the Lord Parish - St. Mary, Park Street, North Attleboro, MA.
There will be no public funeral cortege from the funeral home prior to the commencement of the funeral Mass.
Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery and Arboretum, Mount Hope Street, North Attleboro, MA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his honor to his favorite charity - St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101. Make sure to include your name and address on the check or money order. This address is essential for processing your donation effectively.
