John Joseph Russell

John Joseph Russell, 61, of Plainville, MA, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, May 25, 2018. He was the beloved husband of MaryJane (Daley) Russell, to whom he was wed on October 15, 1994.Born on April 5, 1957 in Foxboro, MA, he was the son of the late Ellery Martin Russell and the late Barbara Ann (Besse) Russell.A graduate of Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School, Class of 1976, where he graduated at the top of his class in woodworking, for the past forty years he was the proud Owner, Operator, and Founder of Independent Auto Care in Plainville, MA. He was a resident of Plainville for the last twenty-six years.John was a talented, humble, and honorable man whose handshake was his contract. He was a perfectionist with everything and handy with anything. He loved woodworking; working on cars, especially restoring Ford Model T and Model A's; reading about history; particularly about Henry Ford; his morning breakfast group; spending Saturday nights at the garage with friends; following politics; and working in his yard. John especially loved being with his family and his beloved three grandchildren.In addition to his wife, MaryJane, he leaves his dear step-children: Tanya M. King and her husband, Josh M. King, of Raynham, MA; and Kristine M. O'Neil and her husband, Chad N. O'Neil, of Pearland, TX. John was the adoring grandfather of Nathan J. King, Alex R. O'Neil, and Sadie M. King. He leaves his loving siblings: Lynn Burgess of Norton, MA; his twin brother, James P. Russell and his wife, Leona (Beaupre) Russell, of Attleboro, MA; David M. Russell of North Attleboro, MA; and Kathy M. Russell of North Attleboro, MA. He is survived by several nieces and nephews, his extended family, and will be missed by many, many dear friends.Friends and family are cordially invited to honor and remember John by gathering for a Visitation on Thursday, June 7, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, June 8, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 58 Carpenter Street, Foxboro, MA.Burial services will immediately follow in Rock Hill Cemetery, Foxboro, MA.
