John Waring Marsden, 85, of Hixon Court, North Attleboro, died on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at the Franklin Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Franklin where he had been a resident since October 2010. Born in Fall River, Massachusetts on November 6, 1927 he was a son of the late William and Sarah (Waring) Marsden. Mr. Marsden was the president of the J Mar Insurance Agency, Inc. on Kelley Boulevard in North Attleboro for many years prior to his retirement. A resident of North Attleboro for more than 35 years, Mr. Marsden also maintained a residence in Mexico for many years. Prior to moving to North Attleboro he resided in Lincoln, Rhode Island for 20 years. An adventurous man, he enjoyed seeking new challenges and opportunities and was a true outdoorsman with a special affinity for skiing. He was the father of Stephanie C. Hartson of Pawtucket, Rhode Island and the late Brian J. Marsden who died on March 23, 2004. Mr. Marsden was the grandfather of Brent D. Marsden of Reading, MA; Derek B. Marsden of Cumberland, Rhode Island; Josh Hartson of Providence, Rhode Island and the late Nathan Hartson. He also leaves his daughter-in-law: Carol A. (Cullion) Marsden of Cumberland, Rhode Island.
