John Curtis Jahoda, PhD, 77, of Attleboro, MA passed away on Friday, April 9, 2021 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA following a period of declining health. He was the beloved husband of Pamela Jane (Bellavance) Jahoda to whom he was married on July 4, 1997.
Born in Dalhart, Texas on February 9, 1944, he was a son of the late William Jahoda and the late Margery (Johnson) Jahoda. Mr. Jahoda received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Connecticut and his doctorate degree from Oklahoma State University.
Dr. Jahoda was a college professor for more than 40 years at Bridgewater State College and did environmental consulting.
A resident of Attleboro, MA since 1992, he previously resided in Halifax, MA.
A true naturalist and adventurer, he enjoyed traveling to Ecuador, Belize, and the Amazon. He did extensive research on whales and turtles.
In addition to his wife, he leaves a son: Jarrod C. Jahoda of New York City, New York; three stepchildren: Donald S. Sabourin of Somerset, MA; Theresa J. Kelly of Attleboro, MA and Christopher P. Sabourin of Attleboro, MA; 7 step grandchildren; his siblings: Judith Ingram of Lebanon, CT; Janet Rogers in Oregon and James Jahoda of Lebanon, CT.
Visitation has been respectfully omitted. Funeral services and burial will be private.
