John Anthony Coccia Sr.

John Anthony Coccia Sr., 67, of Taunton, MA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at the Nemasket Healthcare Center in Middleboro, MA. He was the beloved husband of Patricia A. (Wheaton) Coccia who passed away on November 19, 2018.
Born on November 27, 1951 in Providence, RI, he was the son of the late Rachael Jackson.
A longtime resident of Taunton, John worked for twenty-five years as Fork Lift Driver for Draka Cable in Taunton before retiring in 2005.
A warm and caring man, John enjoyed the simple things in life: watching his favorite television shows, his work, and especially spending time with his family.
He leaves his loving children: Melissa Ann Silvia and her husband, Mark William Silvia, of Taunton, MA; and John Anthony Coccia Jr., and his wife, Rachel A. (Sera) Coccia, of Taunton, MA. He was the forever adoring grandfather of Amanda Ann Benevides, Breanna Marie Coccia, and Caleb James Coccia. John was the dear brother of Anna Lee Manetta of Warwick, RI; the late Ronald Manetta; and the late Edward Jackson. He leaves several nieces and nephews.
John held a special place in his heart for his late grandmother, Alma Coccia, who raised him and was truly like a mother to him.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend a Celebration of John's Life on Friday, January 4, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at Community Covenant Church, 615 Tremont Street, Rehoboth, MA. A Funeral Service will immediately follow from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Burial services will be private.
