John "Midge" Batista Tamanini

John "Midge" Batista Tamanini, 89, of Foxboro, MA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at Charlwell House Health & Rehabilitation Center in Norwood, MA.  He was the beloved husband of Mary A. (Marinucci) Tamanini, to whom he was married on August 1, 1953.
Born on February 11, 1930 in Mount Carmel, PA, he was the son of the late John Batista Tamanini and the late Linda (Augustine) Tamanini.
John worked in the construction business for many years before retiring, and proudly and honorably served our country in the United States Navy.
A resident of Foxboro for the past nineteen years, he previously lived in Roslindale and Hyde Park, MA.
A warm, outgoing, and kind man, he loved to dance, sing, and especially enjoyed Polka music.  John was an avid football fan and enjoyed having volunteered his time as a Pop Warner coach for each of his sons. He was a longtime member of the American Legion, Fogg Robert Post 78, in Hyde Park.  More than anything, he loved spending time with his wife and family and many good friends.
In addition to his wife, Mary, he leaves his loving children: Robert J. Tamanini and his companion, Kimbly Salmone, of Attleboro, MA; Frank J. Tamanini and his companion, Zoe Ann Roy, of Mansfield, MA; Cheryl A. Maynard and her husband, John J. Maynard, of Attleboro, MA; and John W. Tamanini and his wife, Annette (LaFrazia) Tamanini, of Winter Garden, FL.  He was the dear father of the late Scott Michael Tamanini who died on May 4, 2017. John leaves numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, He was the brother of Joseph "Chip" Tamanini of Harrisburg, PA; the late Eleanor Vytovich; the late Carolyne Schiticano; and the late Delores Furca.  He leaves numerous nieces and nephews, his extended family, and many dear friends.
Friends and family are cordially invited to honor and remember John by gathering for a Visitation with Veteran's Honors on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA, immediately followed by a Celebration of Life and Remembrance Service at 7:00 p.m. with full Military Honors at Dyer-Lake Funeral Home.
