John Francis Amadei

John Francis Amadei, 89, of Smithfield, RI, formerly of North Attleboro, MA, passed away on Friday, April 9, 2021 at Roger Williams Medical Center in Providence, RI. He was the beloved husband of Beverly Mae (Adams) Amadei, whom he married in Hawaii in 1953.
Born in Boston, MA on October 2, 1931, he was a son of the late John Edward Amadei and the late Irene (O'Brien) Amadei. He was lovingly raised by the late Vincent and Theresa Paioni.
Raised and educated in Mansfield, MA, he received his Associate degree in Electronics from New England Tech. John proudly and honorably served our country in the United States Marine Corps from 1951 until 1954.
John was employed as a structural safety engineer for the Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority for ten years prior to working in the same capacity at Kaiser Engineering until his retirement at the age of 65. He resided in North Attleboro from 1965 until moving to Smithfield, RI Island in 2018.
He was a communicant of St. Mary Church in Mansfield and attended St. Mary Church in North Attleboro prior to moving to Rhode Island. An avid sports fan, he particularly enjoyed rooting for the New England Patriots.
In addition to his wife, he leaves his loving children: John E. Amadei of Wichita, TX; Denise L. Harris of Sutton, MA; and Robert V. Amadei of Thompson, CT. He was the proud and adoring grandfather of seven grandchildren and several great grandchildren. John also leaves a caring and devoted niece: Trudi Walker of Mansfield, MA. He was the brother of the late Ann Henry.
Visitation has been respectfully omitted.
A Private Graveside Service with military honors will be held on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 in St. Mary's Cemetery, Mansfield, MA.
Burial will follow.
