John Francis Adamonis, 77, of Seekonk, MA, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2017 at his home. He was the loving husband of the late Helena Ann (Moran) Adamonis, to whom he was married on May 29, 1965 and who died on July 7, 1982.Born on July 31, 1939 in Providence, RI, he was the son of the late John Adamonis and the late Catherine (Wrona) Adamonis.John was a graduate of Tolman High School in Pawtucket, RI, and worked for thirty-eight years as a Crew Chief at Almacs Supermarket, and for twelve years with his son, Jason, at Jason's business: Driveway Medics in Seekonk, MA. John proudly and honorably served our country from 1959 until 1963 in the United State Navy. A resident of Seekonk since 1965, John previously lived in Pawtucket, RI. He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church in Seekonk, the former St. Mary's Church. John had an infectious passion for life, and one filled with diverse interests. He enjoyed collecting coins and postcards, reading the newspaper, and listening to country music. He delighted in ordering from catalogs, regardless of whether he really needed what he ordered. He loved the outdoors, spending time with his son and neighbors in his "man cave" (known to others as his garage), and most all animals, especially his faithful dogs throughout the years. He was an avid fan of the Patriots and Red Sox. More than anything else he simply loved being with his family.He is survived by his beloved children: Jason John Adamonis and his fiancée, Renee H. Ferrick, and Vanessa Helena Adamonis, all of Seekonk, MA. John leaves his cherished granddaughter, Morgan H. Adamonis of Seekonk, MA; his step-grandson, Keith Robert Dion of Wallingford, CT; and his nephews: Donald P. Greene of West Melbourne, FL, and Shawn Greene and his wife, Doreen Greene, of Pawtucket, RI. John leaves his fiancee, Helen Melucci.
