John A. Bessette "Jay" 66, of Dighton, MA., passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, MA. He was the beloved husband of Donna A. (Cloutier) Bessette. They were happily married for 48 years.
Born in Central Falls, Rhode Island on June 13, 1957, he was the son of the late Roland and Maureen (Pickard) Bessette.
Jay was employed at Korsch for 22 years as a loyal Service Engineer working on pharmaceutical machines, and traveling the world to see his Customers, before retiring in the last year. He was an avid Boston sports fan, he enjoyed watching the New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox, Celtics, Bruins and PC Friars. Jay loved spending time with family, especially while at his vacation home in Cape Coral, Florida, But most of all he loved to watch his grandchildren in all their activities, especially hockey, football, gymnastics, field hockey and cheer.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his loving children, Jason Bessette and his wife Tina, Brad Bessette and Lyndsey Bessette; cherished grandchildren, Alyvia, Austin, Drew and Eden Bessette; devoted siblings, Steven Bessette, Mary Beth Houle and her husband Donald, Alyson Adalio and her husband John, Jayne Hosney and her husband Michael, Michael Bessette and his wife Debbie, Karen Falvey and her late husband William, Matthew Bessette and his wife Lori. He is also survived by his mother in-law Estelle Cloutier, the late Andy Cloutier and wife Linda, sister-in-law, Debbie Lima and her husband Mark, Sandra Nadeau and her husband Paul, Lisa Wood, and her husband Dan, along with many beloved nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend Visitation on Monday, November 20, 2023 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm followed by a funeral service at 7:00 pm in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.
Jay's burial will be private.
