Joaquin Sosa-Gonzalez

Joaquin "Chico" Sosa-Gonzalez, Jr., 74, of Fuller Road, Foxboro, died on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Steward Norwood Hospital after having been stricken ill at his residence two days earlier. He was the beloved husband of Deborah A. (Veilleux) Sosa. Born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico on June 13, 1938, he was a son of the late Joaquin Sosa, Sr. and the late Ramona (Morales) Gonzalez. He was raised and educated in Puerto Rico and came to mainland United States at the age of 21. He resided in Foxboro for the past 14 years having previously resided in Pawtucket and Providence, Rhode Island. Mr. Sosa-Gonzalez was employed as a baker at Vista Donuts in South Attleboro for more than 37 years prior to his retirement five years ago. An ardent golfer, Mr. Sosa-Gonzalez enjoyed playing at Stone-E-Lea Golf Course in Attleboro and golfing excursions to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Mr. Sosa-Gonzalez was a member of the Ezekiel Bates Lodge of the Masonic Order in Attleboro and of the South Attleboro Lions Club. He enjoyed summer road trips to the State of Maine visiting favorite places such as Old Orchard Beach and also enjoyed visiting Nantucket. In addition to his wife, he leaves three children: Joaquin Luis Sosa, III of Sterling; Marisol Sosa-Pineda of Miami, Florida and Enrique Joaquin Sosa of Clearwater, Florida; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; his siblings: Sonia Gardner of , Old Orchard Beach Maine; Carmen Dorsey of Chesapeake, VA; Petra Sosa of Brea, California; Caroline Sheets of Fort Wayne, Indiana; Denise Bentgen of Old Orchard Beach, Maine; Tamara Kiernan of Old Orchard Beach, Maine; Susan Simpson of Springvale, Maine; Jonah Simpson of Biddeford, Maine; Michael Simpson of Biddeford, Maine and David Simpson of Gorham, Maine; countless nieces and nephews, extended family members and dear friends. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 from 6:00 - 8:00 in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue(exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro.
