Joan A. Stack

Joan A. (Rutledge) Stack, 73, of Jackson Street, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, died on Monday, September 1, 2014 at the Life Care Center of Attleboro. She was the wife of Raymond L. Stack to whom she was married on March 13, 1964. Born in New Bedford, Massachusetts on August 12, 1941, she was a daughter of the late James and Loretta (Cyr) Rutledge. Raised and educated in New Bedford, Mrs. Stack was a graduate of New Bedford High School and resided in her native community until moving to North Attleboro in 1965. She was a dedicated and devoted homemaker to her family. Mrs. Stack was a communicant of St. Mark's Roman Catholic Church, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. She treasured the time spent creating lifelong memories with her grandchildren, spending time on Cape Cod and nurturing her flower garden. In addition to her husband of 50 years, she leaves a daughter: Gretchen Ann Ottaviano and her companion, Joseph J. Lima, of North Attleboro; four grandchildren: Ricky R. Ottaviano of North Attleboro; Amanda L. Ottaviano and her companion, Stephen Chorney, of Wrentham; Danielle M. Lima of North Attleboro and William J. Lima of North Attleboro; four great grandchildren: Isabelle Chorney, Jacqueline Chorney, Isaac Chorney and Kayla Lima; a brother: James Rutledge and his wife, Joanne Rutledge, of New Bedford and several extended family members and dear friends. She was the mother of the late Raymond R. Stack who died in 1980. Public visitation has been respectfully omitted. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend a Funeral Service on Friday, September 5, 2014 at 10:00 AM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right, mile on the left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Towne Street, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Children's room is available during the funeral service.
