Joan Nancy Santos

Joan Nancy (Jackson) Santos, 74, of Attleboro, MA, peacefully passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2017 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence, RI. Born on February 11, 1942 in Fall River, MA, she was the daughter of the late Russell Brace Jackson and the late Phyllis Cleora (Waite) Jackson. Joan was a graduate of East Providence (RI) High School, Class of 1960, and worked as a Solderer for General Findings in Attleboro for twelve years before retiring. A resident of Attleboro since 1962, she previously lived in Rehoboth, MA, where she attended the Rehoboth Congregational Church.In her spare time, Joan was an avid reader. Never one to sit still, Joan was an integral member of the Attleboro Chapter of Parents Without Partners. She had a passion for flowers and plants, and worked for years arranging, designing, and delivering flowers for Nolan's Flowers in Attleboro Falls.She is survived by her beloved children: Michael J. Santos and his companion, Osvaldo Miranda, of Provincetown, MA; and David S. Santos and his wife, Karen (Carpenter) Santos, of Attleboro, MA. She was the loving grandmother of Hope A. Stubbs of Clearwater, FL; and Christopher R. Santos and Caitlyn E. Santos, both of Attleboro, MA; and great-grandmother of Logan B. Stubbs and Elliot B. Stubbs. Joan was the sister of Carol Lyn Bliss of Hanover, MA, and Russell A. Jackson of Norton, MAFriends and family are cordially invited to attend a Memorial Service on Friday, January 13, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.Burial services will be privately held in the spring at Oak Knoll Cemetery, Rehoboth, MA.Joan's family respectfully asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her memory to the Attleboro Public Library, 74 North Main Street, Attleboro, MA 02703.
