Joan Dale (Bellavance) Alix, 77, of North Attleboro, passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, MA. She was the beloved wife of Roger P. Alix, Sr., to whom she was married on April 28, 1962.Born on August 8, 1938 in Attleboro, MA, she was the daughter of the late Paul Bellavance, Sr. and the late Mildred (Walker) Bellavance. She was a graduate of Attleboro High School, Class of 1956, and resided in the Attleboro and North Attleboro area throughout her life. Joan was employed as a Clerk for more than thirty years in the South Attleboro and North Attleboro Jo-Ann Fabric stores, and as a Bookkeeper for Bellavance, Inc.She was member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in North Attleboro. Joan was a skillful sewer who also enjoyed quilting, bowling, and dining out. She loved animals of all kinds, but had a very special place in her life for her "Sammie", her Shetland Sheepdog. Joan's greatest joy and love was for her family, and she valued time spent with them.In addition to her husband, Roger P. Alix, Sr., Joan is survived by her cherished son, Roger P. Alix, Jr., of North Attleboro. MA. She was the sister of Patricia (Bellavance) Ross and her husband, Walter Ross, of FL; Paula (Bellavance) Convey and the late Frank Convey, of Attleboro, MA; Paul Bellavance, Jr., and his late wife, Pamm Bellavance, of Attleboro, MA; Pamela (Bellavance) Jahoda and her husband, John Jahoda, of Attleboro, MA; and Lori Jane (Bellavance) Newton and her husband, Wayne Newton, of FL. Joan leaves many nieces and nephews.Friends and family are cordially invited to attend a Visitation on Thursday, May 5, 2016 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro.Those in need of transportation to visitation may simply call the funeral home at (508) 695-0200 to make an advance reservation for such complimentary transportation.Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend the Funeral Service on Friday, May 6, 2016 at 8:30 a.m. from the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 58 Church Street, North Attleboro with Rev. David A. Costa, Pastor, officiating.
