Jerylyn A. (Gehrung) Peterson, 79, of North Attleboro, MA passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, MA.
Born in Attleboro, MA on November 30, 1941, she was a daughter of the late Edward Anthony Gehrung and the late Althea H. (Kreimendhal) Gehrung.
A dedicated and devoted homemaker to her family, she had also been employed as a certified nurse's assistant at Serenity Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Wrentham, MA for many years prior to her retirement.
She resided in North Attleboro since 1988 and for the past three years also resided in Chester, Maine with her son, Richard.
More than anything, Jerylyn cherished being with her family and creating treasured memories with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to cook, especially big meals and her delicious rice pilaf; thunderstorms; time spent at the ocean and on Cape Cod; collecting antiques and china dolls, and animals of all kinds.
Jerylyn leaves her children: Kimberly "Kim" White of North Attleboro, MA; Tina April of Attleboro, MA; Dianna Culhane of Central Falls, RI; Denise Boyer of South Attleboro, MA; and Richard E. Jewett of Chester, ME. She was the proud grandmother of fifteen grandchildren and many great grandchildren. She was the sister of Maria Runnels of Amherst, MA and the late Sandra Sumner. Jerylyn leaves several nieces and nephews and her extended family.
With strict adherence to applicable Covid-19 health precautions, including social distancing and the use of facemasks, family and friends are cordially invited to attend Visitation on Monday, May 17, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA, followed by a Celebration of Jerylyn's Life at 7:00 p.m. at Dyer-Lake Funeral Home.
Burial will be private in Spring Brook Cemetery, Mansfield. MA.
