Jean Ruth (Egner) Lee, 82, of Taunton, MA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 25, 2020 at Longmeadow Nursing Home in Taunton. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert I. Adwin who died on June 29, 2016.
Born on August 29, 1937 in Walpole, MA, she was the daughter of the late Edwin Egner and the late Nora (Kannally) Egner.
Raised and educated in Walpole, Jean was a graduate of Walpole High School. A resident of Taunton for the past six years, she previously lived in Hanover, MA, and in Plymouth, MA. She worked for many years as a customer service representative for an area moving company before retiring.
A woman of faith, she attended St. John the Evangelist Church in Canton, MA.
Jean enjoyed the simple pleasures in life: trips to Cape Cod with her late husband, latch hook crafting, and the company of her poodle, "Mattie". More than anything, she cherished being with her family.
Jean was the loving mother of David V. Lee and his wife, Jana, of Woodlands, TX; Mark J. Lee and his fiancé, Theresa, of Taunton, MA; the late James M. Lee and his wife, Jeanne, of Norwood, MA; Timothy W. Lee and his wife, Marytheresa, of Norton, MA; and Donna J. Butler of Attleboro, MA. She was a proud and adoring grandmother and great-grandmother, and leaves Carol Donovan of Norton, MA, who was like a daughter to her, and her former son-in-law, Brad Medeiros of Fall River, MA. Jean leaves her extended family and many dear friends.
Graveside Services for Jean will be held in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at 11:15 a.m., at which time she will be laid to rest alongside her late husband.
