Jean (Englebert) Giammarino, 90, of Attleboro, passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Southeast Rehabilitation & Skilled Care Center in North Easton, MA. She was the beloved wife of Antonio "Tony" Giammarino, to whom she was married on September 27, 1947 in St. Augustine Church in Brooklyn, NY.Born on October 18, 1927 in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Alioto) Englebert.Jean proudly enjoyed her work as a School Crossing Guard for thirty-two years in Long Island, NY, where she lived for many years before moving to Attleboro in 2014.She was a truly special woman with a deep and abiding faith in God. Jean was devoted to her church and to her family, and held a special place in her heart for her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A quiet, yet inspirational woman, she enjoyed word puzzles and reading books of faith.In addition to her husband, Tony, she leaves her loving children: James A. Giammarino and his wife, Linda A. Giammarino, of Attleboro, MA; Anne M. (Giammarino) D'Antonio and her husband, Anthony, of Port Ricci, FL; Anthony Giammarino and his late wife, Catherine, of Bloomingdale, OH; and Maria S. (Giammarino) Bohaty and her husband, Robert, of Yaphank, NY. She was the proud and adoring grandmother of Jamie-Lyn Giammarino, Lindsay A. Giammarino, and Shannon M. Ryan, and great-grandmother of six great-grandchildren. Jean was the sister of Carlo Englebert of FL; Anna LaFauci of NY; John Englebert, Jr. of NY; Josephine Stuto of NY; the late Eugene Englebert; and the late Sam "Sammy" Englebert. She leaves many nieces and nephews.Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 120 Nate Whipple Highway, Cumberland, RI, with The Rev. Joan M. Testin, Rector, officiating. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to a Collation immediately following the funeral service in the Church hall.Burial services will be privately held.
