Jay Albert Fischer

Jay Albert Fischer, 73, of Barnstable, MA; a native of the City of Attleboro, MA; passed away unexpectedly yet peacefully at Chip's House in Barnstable, MA where he had resided for almost two years.
Born in Attleboro, MA on February 12, 1950, he was one of four children born to the late Albert J. Fischer and Audrey Eileen (Ogilvie) Fischer.  Raised and educated in the City of Attleboro, Mr. Fischer was a 1968 graduate of Attleboro High School and later earned a degree in motel-hotel management from the Cape Cod Community College.
Along with his family, he attended the First Baptist Church in Attleboro in earlier years.
For many years, Jay was the head bartender and manager of conventions at The Dunfey Family's Hyannis Resort.
In his youth, he achieved the rank of Life Scout with the Boy Scouts of America.
He enjoyed the times spent fishing and hunting, was an avid collector of antiques and loved dogs and at one time had show dogs.
Jay leaves his beloved siblings: Mark D. Fischer and his wife, Lisa A. (Bagley) Fischer of Mashpee, MA; Jill M. Baszner and her husband, Peter Baszner, of Whitinsville, MA and Glenn G. Fischer of Whitinsville, MA; two generations of nieces and nephews and his aunt: Yvonne Ogilvie of Attleboro, MA.
A private funeral service will be held in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.
Burial will follow in North Purchase Cemetery where Jay will be laid to rest with his beloved parents.
The family extends their sincere gratitude to the caregivers to Chip's House for their superior care and support.
Please omit flowers.  In Jay's memory, memorial donations may be made to Chip's House, 23 Park Avenue, Barnstable, MA 02632-3430, a home that provides long-term based housing and support for individuals with head injuries, or to H.M.E.A. - Horace Mann Educational Associates, 8 Forge Park, Franklin, MA 02038, an organization that teaches, supports and empowers people with developmental disabilities and their families.
