NORTH ATTLEBORO- Janet M. (Burns) Petrillo, age 76, longtime resident of North Attleboro, passed away surrounded by the love, comfort, and care of her devoted family, at her home, on the morning of Tuesday, March 25, 2025. She was the loving and devoted wife to Francis T. "Frank" Petrillo, Jr., whom she recently celebrated 50 years of marriage with this year.
Born in Boston, Janet was the second of five children born to the late James and Marjory (Dean) Burns. She was raised and educated in Brookline. At a young age, Janet met what would be her husband of 50 years on a blind date, exchanging vows on February 22, 1975.
A kind and caring woman, Janet was a proud homemaker for her husband and three children. She took great pride in providing a safe, comforting and well-maintained home for her family and all who visited. Janet was an incredible cook whose meals brought the family together, creating cherished memories around the table and filling their home with warmth, love and laughter.
In her spare time, Janet's main focal point was her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She rarely missed an opportunity to attend a sporting event whether it be in person or on the computer, taking pride and joy with every play. Janet will also be remembered for her caring heart and willingness to always help others; you could not find a more sincere and considerate person.
In addition to her husband, Janet is survived by her proud and cherished children: Emily Bastia and her husband Jason of Ludlow; James Petrillo and his wife Jennifer of Wrentham; her treasured grandchildren: Victoria, Olivia, Jimmy, and Gabbie Petrillo, all of Wrentham; Abby Morin of East Millinocket and TJ, Nate and Juliana Petrillo of Oakland ME; her siblings: Judith Swanson of South Boston, Jean Egan of South Boston, and Joanne McMahon of Plymouth as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
In addition to her parents, Janet is preceded in passing by her son: Francis T. "Tommy" Petrillo, III and brother, James Burns.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend Visiting Hours and a Celebration of Her Life on MONDAY, March 31, 2025, from 9:00 am until 11:00 am in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home; 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 am in the "Memorial Chapel"
Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery and Arboretum, Mount Hope Street, North Attleboro, MA, where Janet will be laid to rest with her dear son, Tommy.
