Janet (Asermely) Martinez

Janet (Asermely) Martinez, 87, of Attleboro, MA passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at Garden Place Healthcare.  She was the wife of the late Martin C. Martinez who died in 1968.
Born in Providence, RI, she was a daughter of the late Charles J. Asermely and the late Marion Rose (Mona) Asermely.
She will be lovingly remembered for her strength and determination in raising her family as a single parent after her husband died.
In addition to being a devoted and dedicated mother, she worked at Hasbro in Pawtucket for many years and at Paramount Cards, Inc. for 8 years prior to her retirement in 2005.
Mrs. Martinez was an Attleboro resident for the past 8 years and enjoyed watching television and movies, time spent creating lifelong memories with family and her love for collecting anything "camel"
She was a communicant of St Basil the Great Melkite Catholic Church in Lincoln, Rhode Island.
Left to mourn her loss are her children: Martin J. Martinez of Attleboro, MA; Marion R. Martinez and her husband, John Albert, of Attleboro, MA; Carole A. Massey and her husband, Charles "Chuck" Massey, of Attleboro, MA and Theresa M. Morin and her husband, Robert Morin, of Attleboro, MA; 10 grandchildren;  3 great grandsons; her siblings: Margaret Matonis of Pawtucket, RI and Eva Smith of East Providence, RI; and several nieces, nephews and  extended family members.
She was the sister of the late John C. Asermely , Sandra Asermely, Annette Najjar and Mary Annarino.
At her request private services will be held in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.
Private burial will follow in St. Basil's Cemetery, Cumberland, Rhode Island.
