Janet Lake

Janet Lake, 76, of Bristol, Rhode Island, passed away on April 14, 2025, at the Lincolnwood Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in North Providence, Rhode Island following a period of failing health.

Born in Providence, Rhode Island on December 27, 1948, she was a daughter of the late Waldo N. Lake and the late Margaret (Travers) Lake. Raised and educated in Bristol, RI, Ms. Lake was a graduate of the former Bristol High School.

Prior to her retirement, she was employed for many years by Amica Insurance in Providence, Rhode Island and later in Lincoln, Rhode Island.

She was a lifelong lover of animals, especially her beloved cats through the years, loved walks at Colt State Park, improving and enjoying her beautiful home, her friends and always trying hard to maintain and honor, good friendships whether it be through family or her close friends.

She was the aunt of Paul Santos of Bristol, Rhode Island; Michael S. Lake of Providence, Rhode Island; Shelly A. Lake of Somerset, Massachusetts; David S. Lake of Somerset, Massachusetts.

Janet was the sister of the late Sheldon M. Lake, Robert Lake, and June Santos. She was the aunt of the late Rodney Santos.

She was very close to her dear friend Nikki Ann Bingham who passed on March 27, 2023, and her sister-in-law: Theresa Ann (DiGioia) Lake who passed on August 20, 2024. She leaves her cat, Sophia, who is being cared for by a dear friend.

Janet also leaves many other dear family members, cousins and friends.

All services will be private.

The family gratefully acknowledges the caring staff at Wingate Residences East Side, especially Lina and Maggie.

Please do not send flowers. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Janet's name and memory may be made to the Bristol Animal Shelter or to any non-profit organization benefiting animals.
