Janet Claire (Plante) Johnson, 65, of James Street, North Attleboro died on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Madonna Manor Nursing Home in North Attleboro where she had been a resident for two weeks. She was the former wife of the late Richard J. Johnson, Sr. who died on May 5, 1998. Born in Attleboro, Massachusetts on July 27, 1946, she was a daughter of the late Charles Henry Plante who died on May 16, 2002 and the late Donalda E. "Dot" (Magnan) Plante who died on May 16, 2011. She was raised in North Attleboro where she remained a lifelong resident and was a graduate of Bishop Feehan High School in Attleboro in 1964. Ms. Johnson was employed as a certified nurse's aide at Madonna Manor Nursing Home in North Attleboro for ten years prior to her retirement. Previously, she had been employed by the Neponset Valley Visiting Nurse Association for three years. Prior to working in health care, Ms. Johnson was employed as the packing room supervisor for LeStage Manufacturing in North Attleboro and previously worked for Donnelly Manufacturing in North Attleboro. She was a communicant of St. Mark Roman Catholic Church in the Attleboro Falls neighborhood of North Attleboro. Her favorite pastimes included flower and vegetable gardening, reading, knitting and spending time with "the girls". She leaves three children: Richard J. Johnson, Jr. of Attleboro; Thomas E. Johnson of North Attleboro and Erica L. Hubert of North Attleboro; four grandchildren: Chelsea A. Johnson of Natick; Hayley L. Johnson of North Attleboro; Alexis N. Hubert of North Attleboro and Reese E. Hubert of North Attleboro; one, soon to be two great grandchildren: Kaelyn M. Stockbridge of Natick; a brother: Wilbred "Bill" Plante of North Attleboro; a sister: Louise R. (Plante) St. George of Oahu, Hawaii and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. She was the sister of the late David E. Plante who died in 1992. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Thursday, April 12, 2012 from 4:00 - 6:45 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Funeral services will immediately follow visitation on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at 7:00 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro with the Rev. Victor Chaupetta, M.S. of the National Shrine of Our Lady of LaSalette, Attleboro, officiating. Burial will be private. Please omit flowers.
