Obituary

Janet L. (Parr) Courtney, 85, most recently of Attleboro, MA and formerly of North Attleboro, MA passed away on June 20, 2026, at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, MA following a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of the late James " Lenny" H. Courtney who died on December 1, 2021.

Born in San Antonio, Texas on July 16, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Jay C. Parr and the late Mabel E. (Raymer) Parr.

She was employed at the Faxon Company in Westwood, MA for more than 20 years in a variety of roles, having lastly been the Manager of Academic Services on the manager business systems team.

Janet routinely did the daily New York Times crossword and the Wordle puzzle.

She treasured the times going to the gym, the times spent with the "Curve Girls", dining out, travelling throughout the world with her husband, and spoiling her beloved canine companion, "Bella". However, her happiest times were those spent in the company of her family creating lifelong memories for all to cherish.

Left to mourn her loss are her children: Stephen M. Courtney and his wife, Lisa (O'Neil) Courtney and Cheryl Moran of Lakewood, Ohio her grandchildren: Brian Courtney and his wife, Hailey Courtney, of Attleboro, MA; Sean Courtney and his wife, Allison Courtney, of Cranston, RI; Brendan Courtney and his wife, Meaghan Bordeleau, of Mansfield, MA; Kyle Moran of Lakewood, Ohio and Courtney Moran of Lakewood, Ohio; great grandchildren: Henry, Carson, Emma and Bennett Courtney and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends.

She was the sister of the late Jerry Parr and the late Judy LaGrone.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend Visitation on Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA followed immediately by a Funeral Service at 12:00 noon in the "Memorial Chapel".

Burial will be private later in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA where she will be buried with her beloved husband.

Following Funeral Services an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at a location to be announced.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
