Janet C. Case

Janet C. (Bliss) Case, 81, a lifelong resident of Rehoboth, passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at Waterview Villa, East Providence, Rhode Island. She was the beloved wife of Edward E. Case for more than 60 years. She is survived by her loving husband; a sister: Barbara Bliss Coleman of Tucson, Arizona and numerous nieces and nephews and their families. Mrs. Case was predeceased by her parents Richard P. and Gladys M. (Bishop) Bliss, both of Rehoboth, MA, her sister: Nancy Bliss and brothers: Leonard Bliss and Walter Bliss, CDR, United States Navy Retired. A loving, thoughtful and generous woman, Janet's roots go deep in Massachusetts: she had five direct descendants on the Mayflower and at the first Thanksgiving celebration. She was related to President John Adams. Her family occupied the Bliss Homestead in Rehoboth from 1743 to 1970. She was a 1948 graduate of Dighton High School. Mrs. Case was employed as a bookkeeper, rising to the position of payroll supervisor, at Texas Instruments in Attleboro for 35 years until her retirement in 1993. She was a lifelong member of the Sigma Pi Gamma Sorority and of the Rehoboth Congregational Church, Rehoboth. At her request visitation has been respectfully omitted. A private graveside service was held at the Rehoboth Village Cemetery, Rehoboth. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Memorial Service on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at 11:00 am at the Rehoboth Congregational Church.
