Janet Marie Bandilli, 91, of Attleboro, passed away quietly on Thursday, April 25, 2013. She was the beloved wife of the late Lawrence James ("Tiny") Bandilli, to whom she had been married for fifty-seven years and who predeceased her on December 18, 2003. Born in the Hebronville section of the city of Attleboro on September 25, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Paul Alfred Hardaway and Mary Earle (Wood) Hardaway. Mrs. Bandilli was a lifelong resident of Attleboro, and a graduate of Attleboro High School. Retiring in 1983, Mrs. Bandilli had been employed as a Librarian for the South Attleboro Branch Library for the Attleboro Public Library for twelve years, and had the unique distinction of driving the book mobile while working at the library. She also loved hooking rugs and was a member of the Association of Traditional Hooking Artists (ATHA). Mrs. Bandilli loved animals, particularly her Airedales, and was also an avid gardener. Mrs. Bandilli is survived by her loving and beloved children, Paul C. Bandilli and his companion, Laura M. Zucker of Attleboro, and Peter L. Bandilli and his wife, Margy A. (Popovitz) Bandilli of Gardendale, Alabama; as well as two cherished grandchildren and two adored great-grandchildren. She was the beloved sister of Evelyn Hardaway of Attleboro, Nancy Lord of Wilmington, Delaware, and the late Barbara Forbes; and also leaves several caring nieces and nephews. Private visitation and funeral services will be held from the Memorial Chapel of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, followed by a private graveside service at Oak Knoll Cemetery, Rehoboth. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mrs. Bandilli's name may be made through the Dyer-Lake Charitable Foundation, Inc., a registered 501 (c)(3) organization, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, North Attleboro, MA 02760 to benefit the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) or other local humane societies.
