Jan M. Silva

Jan M. (Thomas) Silva, 64, of Attleboro, MA, formerly of New Bedford, MA, died on June 7, 2021, at the HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence, Rhode Island.  She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Perry Silva who died on January 25, 2008.
Born in Panama City, FL on June 11, 1956, she was a daughter of the late James Richard Thomas and the late Lorraine F. (Maher) Thomas.  Jan was a resident of Attleboro for the past nine years, having moved to the community from New Bedford.
Passionate about animals, particularly dogs, Jan was an experienced dog trainer, both self-employed and having worked at Canine Mastery in Attleboro. She was an active member of the Hearts Unleashes organization assisting in the training of dogs. Jan was also a breeder of tropical fish as well as a member of the American Rabbit Breeders Association.
She was a talented musician who at one time sang in a band. As a woman of Native American descent, she proudly enjoyed attending Powwows.
Jan leaves her loving daughter: Kristen M. Caetano and her husband, James Caetano, of East Providence, RI; one grandchild: Jessica M. Chasteen and her husband, Joshua Chasteen, of Seaside, CA; and a great grandson: Ariael R. Chasteen of Seaside, CA.  She was the sister of the late Jody M. Thomas.
Visitation has respectfully been omitted.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend a committal service at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA on Friday July 2, 2021 at 11:15am.
