James Louis Yurek, 61, of Taunton, MA; a former longtime resident of North Attleboro, MA; passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Friday, May 16, 2025.
Born in Boston, MA on June 28, 1963, he was a son of the late Louis Leo Yurek and the late Marie E. Yurek Ryder.
He was raised and educated in North Attleboro, MA. Previously, he was employed as a clerk in the supermarket industry.
His favorite pastimes included spending time at the family summer home in Plymouth, MA, camping, and attending family get togethers.
As a lover of music, he was very musically inclined and played the guitar, drums and piano and was an avid collector of Beatles memorabilia.
He was the brother of Thomas R. Yurek, and his wife, Kathy Yurek, of Attleboro, MA; David J. Yurek and his wife, Kristine R. Yurek, of North Attleboro, MA and Trindalee Yurek Batchelder and her husband, Eric Batchelder, of Franklin, MA; his nieces and nephews: Lindsay Yurek, Justin Yurek, Thomas Yurek, James Batchelder and Daniel Batchelder and several extended family members and friends.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend Visitation on Thursday, May 22, 2025, from 10:00 am until 11:00 am in the “Memorial Chapel” of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA followed immediately by a Funeral Service at 11:00 am in the "Memorial Chapel".
Burial will follow in Oak Knoll Cemetery, Rehoboth, MA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the North Attleboro Marching Band, One Wilson W. Whitty Way, North Attleborough, MA 02760 (they are raising funds for uniforms) or to the Friends of the Taunton Animal Shelter, 821 West Water Street, Taunton, Massachusetts 02780.
