James "Jim" Woodward Mitiguy

James "Jim" Woodward Mitiguy, 85, of Attleboro, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at Life Care Center of Attleboro in Attleboro, MA. He was the beloved husband of Judith S. (Thibeault) Mitiguy, to whom he was married on May 11, 1985.Born on April 29, 1933 in Boston, MA, he was the son of the late Edmund R. Mitiguy and the late Mary C. (Hilton) Mitiguy.Raised and educated in Milton MA, he proudly and honorably served our country in the United States Army as a Staff Sargeant. Jim loved living in Marblehead, MA, and was for many years the owner and operator of Co-Lift Transportation there before retiring. He then resided in Attleboro since 2015.An avid sports fan, especially of the New England Patriots, Jim enjoyed boating. His greatest joy was being with his cherished family, and he held a special place in his heart for his late cats, "Charlie" and "Toby".In addition to his wife, Judith, he leaves his loving children: Janis Ann Willis of The Boston Home in Dorchester, MA; Edmund Reeves Mitiguy of North Attleboro, MA; William Francis Mitiguy of Haverhill, MA; Mary Catherine Ciassulo-Mitiguy of Millis, MA; Katherine Mary Perrine of Townsend, MA; Meg Mitiguy Goulet of Attleboro, MA; and John Mitiguy of Norwood, MA. He was the adoring grandfather of Janine Geoffroy, Mark Willis, Lauren Holden, Justin Mitiguy, Ian Goulet, Jacob Goulet, Eric Mitiguy, Vanessa Ciassulo, and Nick Ciassulo; and the proud great-grandfather of Camden Geoffroy, Colton Geoffroy, Joseph Holden, and Caleb Holden. Jim was the dear brother of Robert Chadwick Mitiguy of Honolulu, HI, and was predeceased by his siblings, Joan Chadwick MacEwen and John Reeves Mitiguy. He leaves numerous nieces and nephews whom he cherished tremendously, and many dear friends. He was the former husband of Frances M. Renehan from Dorchester, MA.
