James Kevin Trainor, 73, of Wrentham, MA passed away at his residence surrounded by love on April 23, 2025. He was the husband of the late Mary Theresa (Fischer) Trainor who died on June 5, 2010.
Born in Boston, MA on October 9, 1951, he was a son of the late James Francis Trainor and the late Anna (Sloan) Trainor. He was raised and educated in Norwood, MA where he was a graduate of Norwood High School and later earned a certificate in woodworking from Blue Hills Technical School.
Mr. Trainor was employed as a delivery driver and receiving clerk for The Boston Globe for many years prior to his retirement and was a member of the Teamsters Local 259.
He treasured his relationship with his son, Brett, and all the memories they collected over the years.
His favorite pastimes included rides on his Harley Davidson and in his 2017 corvette, playing cribbage, baking, playing horseshoes and spoiling his beloved canine companion, "Harley" - a blood hound.
He will be lovingly remembered for his sense of humor.
Jim was a fan of the Boston Celtics, New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers when Tom Brady was the team’s quarterback.
He enjoyed playing his pinball machine and traveling, especially to. New Hampshire, when his health permitted.
Left to mourn his loss are his son: Brett A. Trainor and his partner, Marissa L. McCabe; his siblings: Denise Flynn of Marinette, Wisconsin; Patricia Collette of Orange, MA and Lauren Downard in Florida and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend Visitation on Thursday, May 1, 2025, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 2, 2025, at 10:00 am in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.
Burial will follow in Centre Cemetery, Wrentham, MA.
Please omit flowers. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his name and honor may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
