James Stott

November 20, 1955 — October 12, 2019

James A. Stott, 63, of Attleboro, MA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at his home.  He was the beloved husband of Janet R. (Demers) Stott, whom he was married on September 18, 1981.
Born on November 20, 1955 in Attleboro, he was the son of the late Walter J. Stott and the late Grace I. (Rounseville) Stott.
James was a lifelong resident of Attleboro, and a graduate of Attleboro High School, Class of 1973.  He also received an Associate Degree in Business from Bryant College, graduating cum laude.  James had a strong work ethic which he proudly passed on to his sons.  James worked at S.M. Lorusso & Sons, Inc. in Walpole, MA for twenty-six years as the Operations Manager and Safety Director.  James attended Centenary United Methodist Church in Attleboro, MA.
James was an avid reader, particularly interested in history. He enjoyed music of many artists and genres, most notably being a Jimmy Buffet fan.  He loved woodworking, gardening, game nights and, more than anything, he cherished spending time with his family. Weekend road trips would always lead to the ocean; his favorite destinations being Bristol and Little Compton, RI.  He was known for his famous frozen margaritas and also had a knack for making the best omelets that will be so missed on Sunday mornings.
In addition to his loving wife, Janet, he leaves behind his children: Matthew J. Stott and his wife, Courtney D. (Stopa) Stott, of North Attleboro, MA, and Christopher G. Stott of Westminster, MA. He was the dear brother of Dianne G. (Stott) Governo and her husband, Michael T. Governo, of Vineyard Haven, MA; Wendy J. Stott of Pawtucket, RI; and the late Paula L. (Stott) Kilpatrick.  He leaves several nieces and nephews, his extended family, godchildren, and many good friends and colleagues.
Friends and relatives are cordially invited to honor and remember James by gathering for a Memorial Visitation on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA, followed by a Celebration of Life and Remembrance Service at 7:00 p.m. at Dyer-Lake Funeral Home.
