James P. O'Donnell, age 84, formerly of Taunton, died peacefully at Madonna Manor on Thursday, March 5, 2015. Jim was raised in Dorchester and was a member of St. Mark's Parish. He was a 1953 graduate of Boston College, earning both Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts degrees, and made a career in sales, having retired many years ago. He was an educated man with a common touch. He was the son of the late Alexander and Margaret (O'Connor) O'Donnell. He was the brother of the late John O'Donnell, and Margaret (O'Donnell) DeCoste. He leaves behind his beloved wife of twenty four years, Dorothy O'Donnell, his stepson Marc Lombardo and wife Karen of Mansfield, and granddaughters Emily, Julie and Kate. He also leaves his daughter Sandra Perkow and husband Michael of Seattle, WA and granddaughters Sheila and Brianna. He also leaves behind several cousins, nieces and nephews and many dear friends. He was a member of St. Mary's Parish in Mansfield. He was a former member of The Easton Lions Club, The Knights of Columbus, Council #11914, and the Boston College Alumni Association. He enjoyed golf and playing cribbage. He also loved to travel, especially to the Berkshires. He loved spending time with family and friends, and entertaining them with "his stories". He was fondly known as "Gentleman Jim" by all who knew him. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary's Church in Mansfield on Saturday, March 14 at 11:00AM.
