James Wilfred Lambert

James Wilfred Lambert, 69, of Metcalf Road, North Attleboro, died on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at the Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island. He was the husband of Marcia Louise (French) Lambert to whom he was married on October 15, 1967. Born in Attleboro, Massachusetts on April 16, 1944, he was a son of Evelyne Marie (Desmarais) Lambert of Norton; formerly of Seekonk and Plainville and the late Harold A. Lambert. He was a graduate of King Philip Regional High School and earned his Bachelor's degree in business management from Boston University. Mr. Lambert was a proud veteran of the United States Navy having enlisted on December 12, 1966 and served until his honorable discharge on November 7, 1969 with the rank of Lieutenant. He was employed as a programmer and later served as Information Systems Manager for the Providence & Worcester Railroad. He resided in North Attleboro for the past 8 years and was a former resident of South Attleboro and Attleboro. Mr. Lambert enjoyed building and flying model airplanes and was a former member of the "Lazy Loopers", a model airplane club. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his beloved family. One of the family's favorite excursions was a sailing trip with the entire family through the islands of the Caribbean. In addition to his wife and mother, he leaves two children: James Christopher Lambert and his wife, Shari, of Roswell, New Mexico and Aimee L. (Lambert) Kingston of North Attleboro; three grandchildren: Reba Lambert and Justine Lambert both in New Mexico and Ryan Kingston of North Attleboro; a great grandchild: Taylor in New Mexico; two brothers: Daniel Lambert in Connecticut and Roy Lambert of Seekonk; and several extended family members including an uncle, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 from 5:00 - 6:45 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Those in need of a ride to visitation may call the funeral home at (508) 695-0200 to make an advance reservation for such gratis transportation. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend the funeral immediately following visitation on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at 7:00 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro with the Rev. Kelly K. Thibeault, Pastor of First Congregational Church, Old Post Road, North Attleboro, officiating. Burial will be private. Children's room available during visitation and the funeral. Following funeral services on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship, refreshments and remembrance at a location to be announced.
