James Clarence Harding, 65, of Jefferson Street, North Attleboro, died unexpectedly at his residence on Tuesday, September 9, 2014. He was the former husband of Margaret M. (Hogan) Harding. Born in Biddeford, Maine on December 27, 1948, he was a son of the late Clarence James Harding and Rita Marie (Caron) Harding Padula and was the stepson of Anthony Padula of Franklin. He was a resident of North Attleboro for the past 20 years having moved to the community from Norwood where he was raised and educated. Mr. Harding was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps having enlisted on December 5, 1966 and serving until his honorable discharge on March 24, 1971. He was the recipient of the Navy Unit Commendations with one bronze star, Vietnam Service Medal with one silver star and one bronze star, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Republic of Vietnam Armed Forces Meritorious Unit Citation of the Gallantry Cross with Palm, the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. Mr. Harding was a self-employed automotive supply and service representative for 15 years prior to his retirement due to disability. He treasured the time spent with his grandchildren creating lifelong memories to be cherished, building and fixing things around his home and enjoyed his hobbies of photography and music. He leaves two sons: James Charles Harding and his wife, Kristie L. (Solomon) Harding, with whom he resided in North Attleboro and William Patrick Harding of Hingham; two grandchildren: Lillian Marie Harding and Elaina Rose Harding both of North Attleboro; seven siblings: Lois Anne Nelson of Pawtucket, Rhode Island; Richard Allen Harding of Rochester; Nancy Lee Missett of Largo, Florida; Robert David Harding of Taunton; Joan Ruth Puzin of Walpole; June Marie Flynn of London, Ohio and Anne Shirley Ubertini of Austin, Texas; several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and dear friends. Kelly K. Thibeault, Pastor of the First Congregational "Oldtown" Church, Old Post Road, North Attleboro, officiating.
